This course is an introduction to the factors involved in the prevention, use, and abuse of alcohol
and drugs. Emphasis is on a basic orientation to the field of alcohol and drug education and treatment. Upon
completion of this course, the student will be aware of the importance of the historical, physiological,
sociological, psychological and economic factors involved in substance abuse.
