This course provides practical applications of the knowledge and skills learned in reference to
chemical reactions, as well as the chemical application to the hair and skin. Emphasis is placed on
knowledge of basic chemistry, pH scale, cosmetic chemistry, and physical and chemical changes in the hair
and skin structure. Upon completion, the student should be able to determine the proper chemical product for
each prescribed service.
